Self-help books

I think I have read this somewhere too. All the self-help books just teach us to ‘push’ ourselves to reach there .They don’t tell us what do there once we reach there.
All the self-help books tell us the benefits of thinking positively and present hundreds of arguments to advocate their point. But none of the books tells us how to keep on positive thinking once we set out on path I hope I am wrong about it and self help books do tell about what do once we reach there.

PD, you are sure wrong here. Look at them this way: They help you reach there, and you should be able to figure out what to do when there. Every bit of a help count. No?

Well, as their name suggests, they make you self-help yourself. And afterall you need a short-term understanding that's why you go reading such books. Otherwise we do have full subject books here...
