Summer of 05’
Life wasn’t bad last few summers’ .The power didn’t fluctuate so frequently and there was always water in the taps. This time around it’s different. The sweat is everywhere, sliding down from the mane, making circles around the neck, on the arms(now I don’t want to go deeper in),on the belly almost all over the body and that makes one hate himself. The recent wave of heavy heat attributed to delaying monsoon rains seems has put the city on halt.
We are having class breaks in the university due to power outages. The sort of breaks in which classes are cancelled or put off until power retuirns. They do provide a rare excursion but exhaust us out. All the blogs are whining about the heat. Cars feel like furnaces when you get back onto them .Driving cars without A/C has become very torturing. The first thing one gets to hear in the morning is someone else asking how long it has been since the power tripped off. It feels like doing so much injustice to the branded clothes. I doubt if they will survive the summer. It seems as if the heat bubble is going to burst but it doesn’t
PS: The electricity went off while I had written only half of this post .And my cable internet’s server remained inactive for quite sometime even when the power returned.
